I don’t think doordash lets you use a VPN.

Many platforms that deal with finance would reject an order when they detect VPNs or Tor (since that’s what fraudsters and scammers use), or they ask for additional verification (like SMS) to verify you are in fact the account holder. So they probably were just using their real IP address.

Simple. Manual reassigns are very unusual and that all being done by one employee (like an actual employee of Doordash that works on the digital platforn, not a driver), and they all are assigned to a small group of drivers. That would look very obvious if someone looked at the logs.

All they need is one confession from any of the driver, or the employee involved in this scheme, then the whole thing unravels.

Also, I’m under the impression that they stole customer accounts to make those orders. Customers would’ve reported that fraudulent purchases were made.

I mean, it is fraud, but I didn’t see nothin’ 😏

9/11 was so shocking, it was known around the world.

My parents who grew up in a developing country (that is not even a US ally btw) also heard about it on the news. Its literally the first thing that come to mind when the concept of “terrorism” is uttered.

For me, Covid is more like slow horror that creeps in, slowly boiling you like a frog.

On Lemmy, most of us live in Western Democracies, where you sort of can trust government agencies that checks their safety.

But in other countries, their public health department doesn’t actually do a good job of checking if something is acually safe.

Just imagine a developing country where either they aren’t democratic or has a very flawed democracy that’s even worse than thr US, with corruption everywhere.

Like, say for example, the US replace the FDA with all trump lackeys and started approving medicine/vaccines that are dangerous.

I’d honestly look at what the doctors and experts in Blue States have to say about it, the US federal government is no longer trustworthy.

TLDR: If you live in actual democracy, sure, the vaccines are probably safe. But for those in authoritarian regimes or backsliding democracies, its kinda harder to trust the government.
